At UPM, the end of 2023 and the vision for the new year were marked by enthusiasm and connection in a special gathering. On November 17, we departed from three strategic locations across Uruguay—Montevideo, Fray Bentos, and Paysandú—to meet in Paso de los Toros.
UPM’s invitation not only allowed us to reflect on the year’s achievements and set goals for 2024, but also gave us the opportunity to visit the plant, offering a closer look at our client’s daily reality and a deeper understanding of our joint collaboration’s impact.
Following the visit, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Club House, located in the heart of the neighborhood built for the plant’s staff. This gathering strengthened our team spirit, making it especially significant for our newly appointed Operations Manager, Ing. Lucía Guzzo. Lucía shared: “It was very valuable for me to be part of this event since I hadn’t met many of the people I’ve been working with in person. I believe face-to-face interaction is always beneficial.”
At 33 years old, with an MBA from the University of Barcelona, Lucía added: “Even though the plant was not in production, exploring the control room and gaining insight into the processes and monitoring levels was impressive. This event not only allowed me to meet colleagues and counterparts in person, but also opened doors for more direct communication, strengthening professional relationships.”
Claudio Ruétalo, our event organizer, arranged a private bus and provided snacks along the way. The day included two presentations—one by Urudata and another by UPM. Beyond reinforcing the connection between our teams, the event allowed technical professionals who collaborate daily to finally put a face to the voices they hear over the phone.
