It requires shared efforts, interaction, and participation to be successful.\nAfter all, organizational communication is also about creating meaning, identity, and team\ncohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When optimal communication is achieved across the organization, it keeps us up to date, ensures\neveryone knows where we are headed, reinforces trust and a sense of belonging, and helps\neveryone\u2019s work flow smoothly and coordinated. Moreover, it connects us beyond tasks, with a\nculture and values we share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So\u2026 why is it so difficult?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite constant efforts and the countless tools we use daily, many factors influence how solid our\ncommunication can be. Some examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lack of interaction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skipping optional events or meetings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Procrastinating on tasks that aren\u2019t seen as urgent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Overloading with too much information at once<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No clear guidelines on which channel to use for what purpose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And many more (you\u2019re probably already thinking of some that have happened to you)<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Good communication transforms the work experience<\/strong><br><br>Effective communication is built collaboratively. It doesn\u2019t depend on just one department or\ncertain roles; each person has a real impact on how information flows and how we understand\neach other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What can we do to foster solid, effective, and participatory communication from wherever we are\nin the organization?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some things don\u2019t take much time but can make a big difference:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you lead a team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead by example: read the communications you receive, respond, comment, react, share.\nThe more you do this, the more natural it will become in your area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Listen actively and open spaces for dialogue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Validate ideas, recognize good work, clearly communicate what you need from them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in talks, team-building activities, shared lunches, and in-company trainings. Make time in your schedule and your team\u2019s, and encourage them to join these activities\ntoo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As a team member:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Read what is shared through various channels (email, WhatsApp, Teams, LinkedIn, blogs,\nplatforms like Moodle, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the available channels to stay informed, ask about what you don\u2019t know, and propose\nalternative channels if you think of any fun and adaptable to the organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in the scheduled sessions, use them to interact with colleagues you don\u2019t often\nsee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>React or reply to messages, so others know you\u2019ve read them, and make time to respond\nas soon as you can.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Small changes, big results<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t need to change everything we\u2019ve been doing; rather, be more aware of your\nenvironment and adjust small habits that greatly improve daily life. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good communication is part of success, both personal and professional.
